Sub-agents, visible

Agents running in HackUtilities spawn sub-agents as real sessions nested under them in the sidebar — watch them, steer them, stop them. Windows is now a first-class platform, and the whole app works from the keyboard.

New

  • Visible sub-agents — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode spawn sub-agents as real sessions, nested under their parent in the sidebar. No hidden in-process workers. Read the task, watch the output, send input, resume, pin or stop any child. Finished children report a result card and clean themselves up after 24 hours unless pinned. Stopping a parent stops its children.
  • HackUtilities MCP server — a local MCP server on 127.0.0.1 lets agents register projects, add and start dev commands, and manage sub-agents. Bearer-authenticated, never leaves the machine. Calls from agents outside the app ask for approval first, and commands an agent adds start untrusted.
  • Agent Integration — install or remove the MCP server and the bundled sub-agents skill for Claude, Codex, Gemini and OpenCode in one click. Settings > Agent Integration.
  • Windows — full support. Projects, terminals and agents behave the same as on macOS.
  • Page switcher — hold Ctrl+Tab for a tile switcher of recent pages, tap it to flip back to the last one. Ctrl+` jumps to the next agent waiting for input. Cmd+[ / Cmd+] (Alt+Arrows on Windows and Linux) and the mouse back/forward buttons move through history. All of it works inside terminals.
  • Keyboard navigation — the sidebar takes arrow keys, Home/End and Esc. Cmd+B toggles it, Cmd+, opens Settings, Cmd+T opens a terminal, Cmd+1–9 and Alt+1–9 jump to processes and projects, Cmd+= / - / 0 set font size. Cmd+/ shows every shortcut.
  • Edit project commands — Edit… in the sidebar command menu and the project overview opens the command form prefilled. Commands from solo.yml stay read-only, since a sync would overwrite them.
  • Markdown viewer layouts — switch between side-by-side and stacked editor and preview, and drag the divider to resize. Layout and sizes stick.

Improved

  • Settings — one page per area, with its own sidebar navigation and a back button to where you were. Every control saves the moment you change it. No more Save button.
  • Command palette — an empty Cmd/Ctrl+K lists your last five pages. Recent pages rank a little higher while you type, never above a better match. Settings pages are searchable too.

Fixed

  • Busy Claude agents no longer flip to "waiting for permission" when their output reads like a question or a numbered list. No more notification per flap.
