Product / Skills manager

Every agent skill.
One grid.

Skills for Claude Code and Codex are scattered across hidden folders and two config formats. The skills manager finds all of them, lints them, and lets you edit, install and switch them per agent without touching a config file.

01 / What it does

Manage skills the way you manage code

01
See everything
Personal, plugin and system skills from Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and your own folders. Filter by agent, state or issues, and sort by size to find what eats your context.
02
Enable per agent
Switch a skill on or off for Claude Code or Codex. Claude's name-only and user-invocable-only modes are one select away.
03
Edit in place
Change frontmatter in a form and the body with a live preview. Only what you changed is rewritten; the rest of the file stays byte-for-byte.
04
Install from anywhere
A GitHub repo or path, a local folder, or a zip or tar archive. Choose the target agents and what to do on a name conflict.
05
Browse the catalog
586 skills bundled with the app, searchable offline. Update checks keep a backup and roll back on failure.
06
Live and safe
Install or remove a skill from the shell and the grid updates. Deletes go to the trash, never rm -rf.
02 / Diagnostics

Catch the typos that silently break a skill

A skill with a misspelled key simply never triggers, and nothing tells you why. The linter does, and most problems have a one-click fix.

key-typo args → arguments, user-invokable → user-invocable
name-mismatch name differs from its directory
nested-skill SKILL.md sits one folder too deep
drift two copies of a skill no longer match
orphan-codex-config config entry for a skill that is gone

FAQ

Where do Claude Code and Codex keep their skills?

Claude Code reads personal skills from ~/.claude/skills, and plugin skills from its plugin cache. Codex reads ~/.codex/skills and ~/.agents/skills. HackUtilities scans all of them, plus Gemini CLI, OpenCode and any folder you add, and shows them in one grid.

How do I disable a skill without deleting it?

Flip its switch for Claude Code or Codex. HackUtilities writes the matching skillOverrides entry in ~/.claude/settings.json or the skills.config entry in ~/.codex/config.toml, keeping every other key, comment and format intact, with a backup before each write.

Can I share one skill between Claude Code and Codex?

Yes. Copy a skill to another agent in one click, or install it into both at once. When two copies drift apart, the drift check shows the difference and lets you sync them file by file.

Does the catalog need an internet connection?

No. The catalog of 586 skills ships with the app and is browsable offline. Refreshing the index and installing from GitHub are the only steps that go online, and they are labelled.
