App Icon Generator
Turn one image into favicon, PWA, iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Tauri icons.
Shipping an app means producing dozens of icon files in different sizes and formats, each with its own naming rules. The App Icon Generator takes one square image and writes the sets you select, including icon.icns and icon.ico files. It runs locally, so unreleased branding is not uploaded.
Seven icon sets
Choose any of Favicon, PWA, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android and Tauri, and generate them together into one output folder.
Web snippets included
The Favicon set produces favicon.ico, 16 and 32 pixel PNGs and an apple-touch-icon, plus an HTML head snippet. The PWA set produces 192 and 512 pixel icons plus a manifest snippet. Both can be copied.
Native desktop formats
The macOS set writes icon.icns. The Windows set writes icon.ico with sizes from 16 to 256 pixels.
Mobile sets
The iOS set writes the AppIcon sizes including the 1024 pixel marketing icon. The Android set writes mipmap folders for each density plus a 512 pixel Play Store icon.
Complete Tauri icons folder
The Tauri set writes the PNG sizes, Windows Square logos, StoreLogo, icon.icns and icon.ico that a src-tauri/icons folder expects.
Source checks
A non-square image is center-cropped to a square, and a source under 1024 pixels produces a warning that large icons will be upscaled.
What source image should I use for app icons?
Use a square PNG, JPEG or WebP of at least 1024x1024 pixels. Smaller images still work but produce a warning because the larger icons are upscaled.
Can it create an ICNS file for macOS?
Yes. Select the macOS set, or the Tauri set, and the tool writes icon.icns alongside the other files in the output folder.
