REST API Tester

Checking an endpoint should not mean opening a heavy API client or an account-based web tool. The REST API Tester lets you build a request, send it, and read the status, headers, body, response time and size in one window. It runs in the desktop app, so your URLs, tokens and payloads stay on your machine.
Seven HTTP methods
Choose GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH, HEAD or OPTIONS and enter any URL.
Toggleable headers and params
Add query parameters and headers as rows, and switch each one on or off with a checkbox without deleting it.
JSON, text or form bodies
Send a JSON body (validated before it goes out), plain text, or key=value form data. A JSON example button fills in a sample payload.
Status, timing and size
See a colour-coded status badge, the round-trip time in milliseconds and the response size next to the result.
Response body and headers
JSON responses are pretty-printed, other responses show as text, and a separate tab lists every response header. Copy the response with one click.
Does the REST API Tester send my requests through a server?
No. When you press Send, the app sends the request directly to the URL you typed. Nothing is routed through HackUtilities servers, and nothing is sent until you press Send.
Why does a request fail even though the API works in curl?
Requests are sent with the fetch API of the app's web view, so the browser rules for cross-origin requests apply. If the server does not allow the request through CORS headers, it can fail here while curl succeeds.
