Text Diff
Side-by-side text diff with word-level highlights and a JSON mode.
Spotting the difference between two config files, API responses or log excerpts by eye is slow and error-prone. Text Diff lines the two versions up side by side and highlights exactly which lines and words changed. The comparison runs locally, so you can diff private configs and payloads without pasting them into a website.
Side-by-side view
Original and changed text sit in two columns with line numbers on each side. Removed lines are tinted red and added lines green.
Word-level highlighting
When a line differs from its counterpart, the exact changed words are highlighted inside the line, not just the whole row.
JSON mode
Switch on JSON mode to parse both sides, sort object keys recursively and re-indent before comparing. Reordered keys no longer show up as changes.
Change counts
A running total of added and removed lines appears above the diff. If both sides match, an identical badge replaces the table.
Clear JSON errors
In JSON mode, invalid input on either side shows the parser error instead of a misleading diff.
Does the diff ignore key order in JSON?
Yes, when JSON mode is on. Both sides are parsed, object keys are sorted recursively, and the result is pretty-printed with two-space indentation before the comparison. Array order is kept.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The comparison runs inside the app on your machine, and nothing you paste is sent over the network.
