Deciding whether 1.4.2 satisfies ^1.2.0, or what the next pre-release should be called, is small work that is easy to get wrong. The SemVer Calculator validates versions, compares two of them, bumps a version and checks a version against a range. It all runs locally in the app.
Version comparison
Compare two versions and see which is greater, with the reason: major, minor, patch or pre-release difference. A leading v is accepted.
Validation
Each version is checked against the major.minor.patch format, including optional pre-release and build parts, and marked valid or invalid.
Version bumping
Bump the current version by major, minor or patch. The pre-release button applies a tag you choose, such as alpha, and appends .1 to the next patch version.
Range checking
Test a version against a caret range, a tilde range, an exact version or a greater-than range, with a message explaining why it does or does not match.

Which range operators are supported?
Caret (^), tilde (~), exact versions and greater-than (>). Compound ranges and other operators are not supported and show an unsupported range message.
How are pre-release versions ordered?
A pre-release is treated as lower than the same release without one. Two pre-releases on the same version are compared as plain strings.
